Job Description JOB TITLE: CNC Operator DEPARTMENT: Foam FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor SUMMARY Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the CNC Operator is responsible for programing and efficient operation of the CNC router equipment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Conduct visual inspection of CNC router and make preventative maintenance adjustments such as cleaning filters, and tool setup.</li><li>Programs router according to job specifications.</li><li>Count and report rejected parts (notify supervisor)</li><li>Clean and maintain work area</li><li>Monitors the performance of CNC Routers and reports any issues</li><li>Perform any other duties requested by Production Supervisor</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES <ul><li>Ability to read basic instructions and manuals</li><li>Basic familiarity operating a computer</li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with among departments </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Ability to work with strict deadlines</li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.</li><li>Ability to work in a production environment using PPE </li></ul>Minimum requirements <ul><li>One year of production experience</li><li>Basic computer skills</li></ul>

This individual will: <ul> <li>Operate machines in accordance with standard operating procedures.</li> <li>Accurately record production information. A Snapshot of Your Day The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and components. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require a proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables. You should also have experience with precision measuring instruments and/or specialized occupation training. Applicants will have 3-5 years of practical trades training, which includes familiarity with blueprints, CNC machinery, programming, G &amp; M code, and manual machining. Effective written and verbal communication abilities are essential, and the ability to maintain Siemens Energy equipment certifications is required. What You Bring<ul><li>Using material handling devices to load/unload parts from machines or assist the crane operator. You will be setting up machines by installing tooling and adjusting machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc, according to job documentation and drawing specifications.</li><li>Securing work pieces using various tools and equipment to ensure accurate alignment and leveling.</li><li>Following established procedures and using lineups, manuscripts, programs, and tooling sheets to operate machines.</li><li>Performing machining operations using manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls to mill, drill, ream, bore, tap, turn, face, groove, radius, and grind, among other operations.</li><li>Conduct in-process integrity checks to maintain specific drawing tolerances and perform in-process testing and data recording and making vital tool changes or offsets and re-orienting machines as required.</li><li>Removing chips from work pieces and performing inspections and deburring/cleaning as needed, while performing preventative maintenance and minor machine repairs and completing required documentation, such as log sheets and downtime records.</li></ul>Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
