The Work You’ll Be Doing

Machinists at MSI work on:

  • Part Types: Aerospace components, medical and surgical parts, energy and industrial components, complex assemblies
  • Production Style: High-mix machining with repeat jobs and long-term programs
  • Typical Tolerances: ±0.001″ down to ±0.0001″ depending on application
  • Programming & Setup: Setup machinists with G-code editing, conversational controls, and close collaboration with engineering
  • Materials Machined: Aluminum, stainless, titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, carbide, specialty alloys

You’ll be expected to think, troubleshoot, and own your work — not just load parts and press cycle start.
