SUMMARY Sets up and operates all machinery in the machine shop including lathe, mill, drill press, saws, horizontal boring, to perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, cutting, broaching, and reaming metal work pieces. Is competent with 5S and maintains a safe work area. Completes all work in a safe manner with quality and productivity in mind by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES include the following. Operates the bench grinder to sharpen tools.</li><li>Set up saws as required. Position Summary Mill Creek Machining (MCM), a CMT company, is seeking a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist for our Paullina, IA location. The CNC Lathe Setup Machinist is responsible for the excellence of precision machining of quality parts produced on our Doosan, Takamaz, and Mazak lathes. Our machine shop is 100% climate controlled* Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Understands programs and sets up CNC Lathe machines using programs generated by the engineering department.</li><li>Inspects parts per print and in process documentation.</li><li>Prepares all tools, and gauging needed for machining operations.</li><li>Installs jaws, tooling, downloads program, enters offsets, and proves out machine.</li><li>Inspects first run piece and makes offsets as required, spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications (including documentation of results per the quality department records).</li><li>Performs other associated duties with machines, programs, tooling, and training of operators needed to continue the productive operation of the company.</li><li>Recommends and helps implement any improvements that could be made the existing process.</li><li>Maintains a clean and organized work environment through 5-S controls (willing to learn 5-S controls).</li><li>Ensures a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensures compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.</li></ul> Experience, Qualifications, and Skills <ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>1-5+ years' experience operating CNC Lathe machines. </li><li>Working knowledge of micrometers, gauging, and comparator.</li><li>Familiarity with Fanuc Controls a plus. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings/readings.</li></ul> Benefits and Perks Our comprehensive benefits package includes, but is not limited to, a competitive pay rate, accrued vacation time, sick time, 8 paid holidays + Paid Birthday, 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance as well as Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and life/AD&amp;D insurance. Position Summary RLS Machining (RLS), a CMT company, is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for our Omro, WI location. The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited to Okuma &amp; Mazak 2-3 axis lathes. The hiring range for this position is between $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience* Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Verifies cycle times on all jobs and reports discrepancies to his/her crew chief.</li><li>Verifies/sets gauging against known standards and ensures gauging is correct per inspection sheet.</li><li>Inspects machine and work area in general for proper order and operation.</li><li>Able to block through a newly set job and/or a newly assigned job and/or start-up.</li><li>Operates machinery according to acceptable and safe practices.</li><li>Makes routine adjustments to feeds, speeds, and offsets.</li><li>Able to ascertain the need for changing inserts and capable of doing so as needed.</li><li>Able to do tool offsets in order to adjust machine outputs or compensation for insert wear/replacement.</li><li>Able to change work holding fixtures and tooling as instructed.</li><li>Lines up tools for the next job and knows and uses correct storage locations for fixtures, tooling, etc.</li><li>Assists in the preparation and execution of set-ups as directed by the machinist or crew chief.</li><li>Competent in all the duties of a trainee and performs all tasks as assigned by supervision/management.</li></ul> Experience, Qualifications, and Skills <ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.</li><li>Ability to read precision gauges and visual accuracy.</li><li>Ability to produce precision work.</li></ul> Benefits and Perks Our comprehensive benefits package includes but is not limited to, a competitive pay rate, accrued vacation time, paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance as well as Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and life/AD&amp;D insurance.
