This role exists to support increasing demand for high-precision EDM components used in medical device manufacturing.

At Lowell, EDM machining is a critical part of producing complex implants and surgical instruments that directly improve and save lives. This position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and quality in tight-tolerance components.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Set up and operate CNC Wire EDM machines
• Edit programs to maintain part quality and process efficiency
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing instructions
• Perform in-process inspection using precision measurement tools
• Adjust machining parameters based on inspection data
• Maintain tooling, machines, and work areas for safety and organization
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on EDM equipment
• Complete part finishing operations (deburring, polishing, abrasives)
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams
• Support additional shop duties as needed

Machines & Tools

You will work with:

• CNC Wire EDM machines
• Precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
• Standard EDM tooling and consumables
• Manufacturing documentation systems

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• 1–2+ years of CNC machining experience
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
• Basic understanding of machining and measurement principles
• Comfortable working in a precision manufacturing environment

Preferred:

• Experience with Wire EDM machines
• Experience in milling or CNC machining
• Familiarity with medical device or tight-tolerance parts
• Strong computer skills for data entry and job tracking
