The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC and laser cutting machines (fiber and CO₂)
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
- Load, run, and edit CNC programs at the machine as needed
- Optimize cutting parameters based on material type and thickness
- Design and fabricate custom fixtures, jigs, and holding tools
- Perform first-article and in-process inspections
- Troubleshoot machining and cutting issues to maintain quality
- Maintain machines and ensure safe, efficient operation
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams
- Support automation initiatives, including robotic integration (when applicable)
Machines, Controls & Software
You’ll work with equipment such as:
- Machines: CNC machines, Fiber laser cutters, CO₂ laser cutting systems
- Controls: G-code-based CNC controls
- CAD/CAM Software: Fusion 360, Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- Robotics (Preferred): FANUC, ABB, KUKA
- Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, gauges
Materials You’ll Work With
- Aluminum
- Mild / Alloy Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Other metals (based on production requirements)
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of CNC machining and laser cutting experience
- Strong experience with machine setup, operation, and programming
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming
- Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
- Experience designing and fabricating tooling and fixtures
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with robotic programming and integration
- Exposure to FANUC, ABB, or KUKA systems
- Experience in automation or process improvement initiatives
