ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to): <ul><li>Reports daily at beginning of shift to supervisor for assignments and instructions. </li><li>Discusses with previous/next CNC Operator, as applicable, the status of existing job on assigned machines. </li><li>Reads and interprets measurements of parts using various precision instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. </li><li>Turns on and ensures proper warm-up of assigned CNC machines before beginning jobs. </li><li>Loads/unloads parts and bar feeder on assigned CNC machines, including unlocking, opening, loading, feeding, closing, relocking, and starting machines. </li><li>Gauges first part produced on each job on assigned machines, ensuring dimensions conform to print specifications. </li><li>Safely and properly operates various CNC machines according to all Department rules and regulations, including safety and emergency policies and procedures, often operating more than one machine at the same time. </li><li>Periodically gauges parts during each job to ensure continuing conformance to specifications. </li><li>Set up CNC machines including tool installation, make offsets, program upload/download and adjusting as necessary to maintain part quality. </li><li>Set up peripheral equipment such as bar loaders and/or 2nd op fixtures and machines. </li><li>Ensures that assigned CNC machines maintain continuous production of parts, including monitoring machines during production and starting new parts immediately upon completion of each cycle. </li><li>Monitors assigned CNC machines during production, observing/listening, and immediately notifying supervisor of suspected malfunction. Job Description Engineering Specialist - Process (Machining/Assembly/Central Engineering) Responsibilities Position Responsibilities: <ul><li>Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for departments.</li><li>Reviewing CMM reports and have and understanding of GD&amp;T. </li><li>Make quality offsets to CNC machine based of Quality operating system. </li><li>Preform tooling trials and capability studies.</li><li>Understanding of NC programming language to preform minor machining changes.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.</li><li>Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.</li><li>Develop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize quality concerns and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes.</li><li>Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Operations guidelines.</li><li>Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes.</li><li>Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices.</li><li>Ensure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standards.</li><li>Support ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as required.</li><li>Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements.</li></ul>Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Diploma Experience: <ol><li>Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change back to the production departments.</li><li>Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.</li><li>Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities.</li><li>Must have a proven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations and be a team player.</li><li>Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary).</li><li>Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.</li><li>Ability to assign work independently to trades and technicians as required. </li></ol> Preferred Requirements: <ol><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.
