Safely operate, setup and produce quality components using various types of CNC mills and lathes and/or manual machines including, but not limited to,<ul><li>Operate and setup one or more CNC machines simultaneously (may or may not be a 2:1 cell);</li><li>Select, replace, and setup tooling;</li><li>Edit CNC programs (G-code or conversational);</li><li>Troubleshoot and correct machining issues;</li><li>Partner with maintenance to repair machines including calibration;</li><li>Ability to utilize CAD/CAM software preferred.</li><li>Ability to design and fabricate tooling/fixturing is preferred; and </li><li>Support rotation of machine assignments to foster effective cross-training.</li></ul> Responsibilities<ul><li>Keep safety as a primary focus by working safely, following safety policies and work instructions, asking for help, promptly reporting safety concerns, and utilizing the Stop &amp; Seek program. </li><li>Cross training on designated equipment utilizing the skills matrix for both setup and operation of CNC equipment.</li><li>Support training of all machinists.</li><li>Create and maintain setup sheets with process engineering.</li><li>Use the DNC to effectively load/save CNC programs. </li><li>Analyze tooling wear to aid in improving operational performance.</li><li>Support development of processes involving work holding, cutting tools, programming, and peripheral equipment that is introduced into the department.</li><li>Assist in the selection of capital equipment.</li><li>Generating or modify a program utilizing macros and variables.</li><li>Continuously observe machines, fixtures, peripheral equipment, gauging, materials, parts, etc., for obvious defects and/or malfunctions.</li><li>Perform machine specific tooling offsets of CNC machines. </li><li>Replace and adjust existing tooling in a tool rest/tool setter to maintain production within specifications. </li><li>Continuously monitor measured part dimensions against engineering print using standard inspection gauges including use of CMM, if discrepant utilize "Stop &amp; Fix" procedures to correct immediately.</li><li>Machine and control knowledge to operate all pieces of equipment.</li><li>Accurately monitor and record data as requested for labor reporting, and inventory control.</li><li>Positively and actively contribute to High Performance Teams (HPTs) by participating in Team Improvement Boards (TIB), problem solving and task completion. </li><li>Positively support change initiatives by actively contributing to and participating in Lean principles and Kaizen events.</li><li>Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning machines to maintain 5S+Safety approach. This includes fixtures, tooling, gauging, and peripheral equipment.</li><li>Develop knowledge of proper handling techniques and use of coolants; monitor and maintain appropriate levels, check refractory levels.</li><li>Submit waste reductions/cost avoidances using the quality concern report process.</li><li>Follow all standard work, process sheets and work instructions.</li><li>Be a respectful and supportive team player and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all team members and supervision. </li><li>Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent.</li><li>CNC coursework completed through Wayne County Career Center or equivalent experience.</li><li>Ability to create and edit CNC programs for both G-code and/or conversational.</li><li>7+ years of machining experience including but not limited to programming, tooling, gauging and machining methods.</li><li>Proficient understanding of computers and related software (Office365 products, MSS, etc).</li><li>Proficient understanding of blueprint reading.</li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to adapt to changing roles and changing priorities.</li><li>Overhead Crane Certified.</li><li>Fork truck certified preferred, not required.</li></ul>Parker Hannifin Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies.
