About ABS Machining

For more than 50 years, ABS Machining Inc. has been one of North America’s most respected and technologically advanced precision manufacturers.
Serving leading OEMs such as GE, Siemens, Elliott, Philadelphia Gear, OPG, and Komatsu, ABS delivers high-precision machined components, fabrications, and assemblies that meet the world’s most demanding standards.

With six state-of-the-art facilities, more than 100 CNC machine tools, and over 50 cranes with lift capacities up to 160 tons, ABS offers unmatched capability in large-part machining, production machining, fabrication, robotic welding, and mechanical assembly.

Precision & Heavy Machining Excellence

ABS set out decades ago to become a global leader in large and heavy machining—and succeeded.
Our fleet of CNC boring mills, vertical turning lathes, and table-type boring mills supports some of the largest components ever produced in North America.

Key differentiators:

  • Continuous investment in the most advanced CNC technologies
  • In-house training facility ensuring future skilled trades availability
  • Dedicated engineering, quality, and production control teams
  • Government-recognized apprenticeship and safety programs

5-Axis Machining Leadership

ABS’s 5-Axis Machining Division was designed from the ground up for advanced manufacturing challenges.
Custom-built 5-axis boring mills and dedicated tooling development enable impeller and “single-piece wheel” machining up to 80 inches in diameter.

Advantages of 5-Axis Machining at ABS

  • Extreme design flexibility for complex geometries
  • Simplified setups and enhanced accuracy
  • Higher-quality surface finishes
  • Increased efficiency and reduced lead times

Our continuous process development and advanced CMM inspection systems ensure every part meets the highest quality standards—making ABS a trusted partner for Turbo Machinery OEMs worldwide.

Production Machining & Fabrication

ABS combines medium- to high-volume production machining with precision welding and fabrication to deliver cost-effective, repeatable results.
Through ERP-tracked manufacturing and dedicated program management, ABS ensures consistent quality and full traceability on every project.

Why OEMs Choose ABS

  • Proven expertise in heavy fabrications and complex assemblies
  • One of the largest CNC machine tool pools in North America
  • Specialized equipment redundancy for high throughput
  • Advanced 5-axis and robotic technologies for maximum efficiency
  • Decades of supplier recognition for quality and on-time delivery

Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

ABS partners with OEMs early in the process through Design for Manufacturing (DFM)—optimizing part geometry for efficiency and cost.
Our engineering teams collaborate with clients to streamline designs, minimize rework, and improve manufacturability—reducing total cost of ownership without compromising quality or performance.

Strengthening OEM Supply Chains

With unmatched machining depth and equipment redundancy, ABS helps OEMs de-risk their supply chains and achieve consistent production even in volatile markets.
Our investments in technology, software, and workforce training position us as a strategic partner for long-term manufacturing success.

Join Our Team

ABS Machining is growing and seeking skilled CNC machinists, programmers, and manufacturing professionals to join our Mississauga and Burlington teams.
