You’ll be expected to troubleshoot, optimize machine operations, and uphold Schafer’s high standards for precision, safety, and efficiency.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Set up and operate CNC and conventional milling machines</li><li>Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and specifications</li><li>Load and unload parts; change tooling and work-holding devices as needed</li><li>Adjust machine settings and offsets to maintain quality standards</li><li>Perform in-process inspections to verify part conformance</li><li>Conduct routine preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs</li><li>Collaborate with engineering and production staff to resolve machining issues</li><li>Continuously monitor tooling conditions and implement cost-saving improvements</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized workspace aligned with 6S principles</li><li>Train new team members and contribute to cross-functional support</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Two-year technical certification and/or equivalent experience</li><li>Minimum of two years operating and setting up CNC milling equipment</li><li>Strong understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and material properties</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents</li><li>Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Basic computer proficiency</li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Climate-controlled manufacturing facility</li><li>Exposure to standard industrial elements such as noise, dust, oils, and solvents</li><li>Role is on-site, full-time</li></ul>Equal Opportunity Employer Schafer Industries is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
