What you'll be doing

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Select the right CNC programs and tooling for each job from the daily production requirements
• Make CNC program corrections as needed and troubleshoot setup and production issues
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Measure parts with precision tools (height gauge, micrometers, calipers, pin gauges) and offset the machine to hold tolerance
• Perform first-piece and in-process quality checks
• Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming product, and follow Robroy's ISO processes and quality policy
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and use safety devices and PPE

Machines, controls and software

You will run Haas lathes with live tooling and sub-spindles, along with a CNC mill, typically one or two machines at a time. The work is high-volume production, with parts ranging from small couplings to large hubs and conduit. Experience with Haas controls is preferred, as is experience turning and threading stainless steel.

What we're looking for

Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Two years of CNC experience, including lathe setup
• Able to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools
• Numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and good verbal communication
• Able to read and interpret policy and procedure manuals
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred

• Experience with Haas CNC control
• Experience turning and threading stainless steel
• Knowledge of G-code programming and editing
• CAM programming experience
• Familiarity with MRPII
• One to two years of prior factory employment

Pay, benefits and schedule

This is a full-time, second-shift position starting at 3:30 PM on 4 x 10-hour shifts. About 40% of Saturdays are mandatory, full-shift days. They are planned in advance, and holidays and community events are excluded. Pay follows Robroy's union scale with fixed steps, not a range:

• $30.00/hour from day one
• $31.50/hour after 3 months
• $32.09/hour after 1 year (the qualifying rate)
• Plus $0.75/hour second-shift differential
• Plus $1.00/hour if you can run all of the CNC machines
• Plus $1.00/hour if you are leading an area

Benefits begin at 90 days:
