Essential Responsibilities Be able to operate a variaty of CNC machines and run a minimum of 20-25 different CNC machines. • Should be able to run cells with gear machines and other manual equipment. • Modify speeds and feeds with approval from the supervisor or ME. • Edit programs if required with approval from the supervisor or ME. • Must be able to handle machining of complex parts. • Must be able to operate two or more machines at one time. • Be able to make tooling offsets for wear and geometry. • Working from blueprints, plans methods and sequences of machining to produce good parts complete as needed to conform to specifications. • Inspect parts per drawing requirements and log data as required. • Check and fill as necessary all CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer • Identify stock and raw materials. • Actively participates in safety and continuous improvement and processes needed to ensure production is maintained. • Will be required to train Level I and II operators on running and offsets CNC machines, gear cutters and other manual machines. • Must be able to perform and approve their own first articles for parts that don't need CMM or be able to perform the first piece inspection as required as the second reviewer using standard quality gages and tools. • Expected to contribute ideas for continuous improvement for setups and processes. • Must be familiar with and maintain ITT Quick change setup software. • Must be proficient with quick change tooling. • Must keep their work area clean, wipe down each day and maintain all setup tooling in the right holders. Position Summary The Machining Associate I operate CNC machines to manufacture metal parts and materials. The Machining Associate I maintain CNC machines and related equipment in a process ensuring that systems run smoothly with assistance from on-site leadership. CNC Set Up Machinist

Job Description Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities • Interprets and evaluates optical component drawings and determines best processes and methods needed to meet drawing specifications. • Programs tool paths for the CNC machining of glass and other optical materials. • Operates Haas and DMG-Mori 3 and 4-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers to shape optical materials to precise dimensions. • Utilizes conventional optical machining equipment to shape optical materials. • Coaches and trains junior CNC technicians in glass machining techniques, optical fabrication methods, and CNC programming using GibbsCAM. • Participates in process development efforts that expand capabilities, increase yield, and improve cycle time. Education &amp; Experience • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience with precision CNC machining of glass. • Fluent in computer-aided machining software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or equivalent). • Understanding of GD&amp;T tolerances and technical drawing interpretation. • Ability to train and coach junior CNC technicians in the programming and machining of complex glass geometries. • Experience with classical optical generating techniques, such as blancharding, spherical generating, edging, and cropping. • Experience working with aspheric optical surfaces, including an understanding of sag calculations, aspheric departure, wedge, and decenter.
