Why This Role Exists

This role exists due to continued growth in aerospace and defense manufacturing programs requiring high-precision prototype and low-volume production components. At H&H Machining Center, this position is critical to producing tight-tolerance, flight-critical parts where quality, consistency, and machining expertise directly impact aerospace and defense program success.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes including 3, 4, and 5-axis machines while programming parts from scratch using Mastercam or Fusion 360. You will machine prototype and low-volume precision components directly from engineering blueprints, ensuring all GD&T requirements are met. You will be responsible for selecting tooling, setting offsets, and establishing setups to maintain process stability and repeatability.

You will perform in-process inspection using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment while maintaining tight tolerances of ±0.0005” or better. You will troubleshoot toolpaths, optimize cutting parameters, and make machine-level adjustments using G-code knowledge as needed. Collaboration with engineering, quality, and other machinists will be required to ensure all parts meet AS9100D standards and customer requirements.

Machines, Controls & Software

You will work with CNC milling and turning equipment including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines. CNC controls include Fanuc, Haas, and Mazatrol systems. CAM programming is performed using Mastercam (preferred) or Fusion 360, with G-code required for machine-level edits and troubleshooting. Inspection tools include micrometers, calipers, and CMM systems for precision measurement and verification.

Materials You’ll Work With

  • Aluminum
  • Steel / Alloy Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Titanium
  • Inconel
