Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Machine Setup and Operation: Operate CNC machines and ensure precise setup and alignment within specifications.</li><li>Tool Management: Manage tool changes and make offset adjustments for accurate machining processes, conducting routine checks on tool conditions.</li><li>Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret blueprint dimensions accurately, in order to manufacture parts within specifications.</li><li>Inspection: Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts are within specified tolerances.</li><li>Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Adhere to machining policies, Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO standards, and safety guidelines for compliance and quality assurance promptly reporting and resolving non-compliance issues.</li></ul> Performance Objectives: Within 60 days: <ul><li>Minimize defects and errors in the production process through careful attention to detail and precision. </li><li>Successfully interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to accurately set up and machine parts according to requirements.</li><li>Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and coordination. </li><li>Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. </li></ul> Within 90 days to one year: <ul><li>Operate machinery efficiently to meet or exceed production targets and deadlines.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement in machine operations.</li><li>Exhibit the ability to identify and troubleshoot common machining issues, proposing and implementing solutions to ensure uninterrupted workflow.</li><li>Demonstrate proficiency in operating a wider range of machining equipment with minimal supervision, including advanced setups and adjustments.</li><li>Enhance communication skills and foster strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to facilitate smooth workflow, problem-solving, and knowledge exchange.</li><li>Continuously improve tool selection, setup procedures, and machining processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.</li></ul> Position Requirements <ul><li>Ability to set up and operate CNC machines with precision and thoroughness to meet quality standards in a production environment.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints and manufacture parts within specifications.</li><li>Possess basic machine shop math skills and ability to perform calculations.</li><li>Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision measuring instruments and ensure parts conform to the blueprints.</li><li>Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.</li><li>Effective communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate on problem-solving.</li><li>Efficient prioritization and time management skills to meet production schedules.</li></ul> Preferred <ul><li>Work flexible and extended hours as needed within 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Position Description As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities: <ul><li>Set up and operate 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines according to instructions and engineering drawings</li><li>Change tools and make offset adjustments</li><li>Interpret blueprint dimensions</li><li>Understand and follow machining policies and instructions (MI),QSR, ISO, SOP's work rules and safety guidelines</li><li>Meet schedules and maintain quality standards</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes: <ul><li>A minimum of 3-5 years work experience related to the set-up and operation of CNC milling machines</li><li>Experience interpreting blueprint dimensions and using measuring tools</li><li>Working knowledge of MI's, QSR, ISO, SOP's, work rules and safety guidelines</li><li>Ability to read, write and speak in English</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li></ul>Preferred <ul><li>Experience with Makino, HAAS, and DMG milling machines is a plus</li><li>Having their own tools is a plus (precision and hand tools)</li></ul> Benefits The base compensation range for this role is $20 - $33 / hour for the position in California.
