Position Summary This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, and router equipment. The Machine Operator produces quality product according to precise specifications within time constraints. At some locations, this position will also include general warehouse duties such as shipping and receiving. In this position, the employee will work with moderate supervision. Essential Functions <ul><li>Sets up and operates production machinery such as CNC saws, lathes, milling machines, drills, shapers, boring mills and grinders to fabricate and repair parts and products. CNC Machine Operator I

The Associate Support Specialist, CNC is expected to assist and collaborate on work activities with senior employees regarding CNC programs and tasks in the production areas. This person supports new and existing products along with other technical/administrative tasks involved in the concept and development of product processes and associated systems. Duties are generally prioritized, allowing employee to perform independently, with close supervision, in conformance with written instructions and established schedules. Problems not clearly defined by written directives or instructions are reviewed with supervisor to determine course of action. SUMMARY The Press Brake Operator will use a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. <ul><li>Operate a press brake to manufacture products from sheet metal or metal plates.</li><li>Prepare, set up, and adjust press brake as required by product plans and productions schedules.</li><li>Ensure that there are sufficient raw materials available.</li><li>Measure and align materials to be used.</li><li>Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.</li></ul> SKILLLS/ABILITIES <ul><li>Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls.</li><li>Ability to follow instructions.</li><li>Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.</li><li>Basic computer and math skills.</li></ul> EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. <ul><li>Studies, blueprints, drawings, or samples and written specifications to ascertain size, depth, and locations of cuts to be made.</li><li>Selects and installs router bits in spindle chucks according to specifications.</li><li>Spaces spindles on shaft at specified intervals and turns hand wheels or set stops to regulate depth of cut.</li><li>Clamps stock to jig, inserts in guide hole of machine able, and places jig over guide pin, or compass part to movable table of machine.</li><li>Starts machine and presses pedal to raise table and feed stock into rotating bits.</li><li>Moves stock under bits, following guides, lines, or slots in jig, to cut specified slots, designs, grooves, or recesses in stock.</li><li>Measures dimensions of processed material conformance to specifications.</li></ul>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
