Senior CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer Duties and Responsibilities • Develop CNC programs for production runs • Analyze and create drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates • Modify existing programs for different machines • Maintain tooling database • Make manual program adjustments as necessary • Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process CNC Programmer Requirements and Qualifications • High school diploma or GED certificate • Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus • At least 5 Years Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills • Familiarity with Mastercam, Fusion 360 and Bobcad • Basic math skills

Key Duties/Programming Responsibilities: US Citizenship Required Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for CNC program creation, proofing, and implementation. This position will support plant-wide Lean efforts, using real-time creativity and frugality to remove waste and improve NC programs, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities include: <ul><li>Responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines, such as but not limited to, lathes and milling machines</li><li>Maintain at all times the highest levels of Accuracy and Quality in all machining operations</li><li>Interprets drawings or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.</li><li>3, 4, &amp; 5 axis programming of milling and routing machines (strong focus on 5-axis programming)</li><li>Hands-on set-up and program verification on all machines</li><li>Supports design and fabrication of all necessary CNC holding fixtures</li><li>Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of production. Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.</li><li>Lead/coordinate the training activities of all machine operators </li><li>Assist engineers with product tool designs and participate in waste reduction and manufacturing process improvements</li></ul>Knowledge: <ul><li>Strong understanding of CNC machines, operations, and languages</li><li>Understand operations and setup of manual lathes and mills</li><li>Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, TPM, and visual factory with a focus on waste reduction</li><li>Experience interpreting engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&amp;T per ASME Y14.5M)</li><li>Extensive knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
