Your work directly supports the development and refinement of the Matter Compiler™ and Atomic Machines’ next-generation micromanufacturing capabilities.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Interpret 3D CAD models and engineering drawings to plan setups and machining workflows.</li><li>Program CAM using Fusion 360, Mastercam, HyperMill, or similar platforms.</li><li>Run a variety of CNC equipment, including:<ul><li>3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis CNC mills</li><li>Live-tool CNC lathes</li><li>Waterjets &amp; laser cutters</li></ul></li><li>Machine precision components with tolerances down to ±0.0005" (±13 µm).</li><li>Design and build custom fixtures, tooling, and workholding systems for prototype manufacturing.</li><li>Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM.</li><li>Provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feedback to engineering teams.</li><li>Fabricate fixtures, tooling, and prototype structures for R&amp;D hardware.</li><li>Document machining processes, offsets, inspection results, and lessons learned.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>3+ years of CNC machining experience, ideally in a high-mix, low-volume, or R&amp;D prototype environment.</li><li>Proficiency with at least one CAM system (Fusion 360, Mastercam, HyperMill, etc.).</li><li>Strong understanding of GD&amp;T, precision tolerances, and blueprint interpretation (&lt;0.001").</li><li>CNC experience with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other advanced materials.</li><li>Skilled with manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, saws).</li><li>Welding certification or practical welding experience is a strong plus.</li><li>Experience with CMM and advanced metrology tools preferred.</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to document workflows clearly.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.</li></ul><h3>Why Join Atomic Machines</h3>✅ Be part of the team developing next-generation micromanufacturing technology ✅ Prototype never-before-made precision components ✅ Work with state-of-the-art CNC, metrology, and R&amp;D tools ✅ Competitive pay range of $45–$55/hr ✅ Highly collaborative engineering and machining environment
