Responsibilities: <ul><li>Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs Machine Tools and equipment.</li><li>Must understand and be capable of instrumentation and equipment calibration, for optimum performance.</li><li>Reads and understands electrical/electronic and mechanical schematics.</li><li>Programs and modifies ladder logic and function block languages.</li><li>Programs, modifies and interfaces with various MMI (HMI) devices.</li><li>Leverages proficiency in electronic data communication methods and techniques such as Profibus, profi-net, SCADA, Ethernet and remote I/O wired and wireless communication platforms.</li><li>Demonstrates through understanding of AC/DC motor control, including thyrister drives such as Siemens, ABB, Omron, Reliance, Saftronics, Klockner Moeller, Ceda, GE, Westinghouse.</li><li>Deploys solid knowledge of laser and optics machine vision, including Keyence, Effector, Cognex, Datalogic, Microscan and related equipment.</li><li>Demonstrates thorough understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics as related to electronic controls, including Vickers, Rexroth, Parker and various other manufacturers.</li><li>Acts on familiarity with feedback systems, PID controllers and servo systems and direct slide wire feedback.</li><li>Conceives and realizes automated solution implementing controls schemes.</li><li>Identifies, reviews, and recommends activities and upgrades/retrofits to improve maintenance and operation methods and equipment performance.</li><li>Develops and monitors work assignments for other technicians and coaches as appropriate.</li><li>Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.</li><li>Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.</li></ul><ul><li>Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.</li></ul><ul><li>Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as performing job hazard analysis, following lockout/Tag out procedures, and wearing PPE as required.</li><li>Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help troubleshooting and repair.</li><li>Operates data loggers, analyzers, signal conditioners, remote pendent.</li><li>Operates oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and repair.</li><li>Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.</li><li>Demonstrates a high level of urgency and flexibility to meet emerging business needs. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.</li><li>Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.</li><li>Possesses the ability to lead complex technical work utilizing a wide variety of resources, including computers. Often responsible for leading maintenance projects from conception to completion. Identifies and documents cost and lost opportunity savings.</li></ul> Basic Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: 1. High school diploma or GED. 2. Two of experience as a Machine Tool Technician in an industrial production environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements: * Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. * Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. * Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. * Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift. * Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift. * Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. * Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. * Requires the ability to safely operate an Ariel Lift. * Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife. * Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding. * Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement. * Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. * Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents. * Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line. * Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. * Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations. Special Requirements: * Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. * Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained. Experience troubleshooting Fanuc / Allen Bradley / Siemens 7 / Mitsubishi 840d controllers. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing process mechanical systems such as conveyors, filtration systems, and coolant systems to OEM specifications. Experience with alignments and machine geometry using precision calibration tools. Experience troubleshooting, repairing and working safely with 480v 3 phase electrical components. Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, various type gauges, and calibers to set tolerances to OEM Specifications. Experience using ball bar and laser equipment for alignments, calibration, and compensations of CNC controlled machine tools. NFPA-70E Training.
