CNC Machinist (2nd shift)

SUMMARY Sets up and operates all machinery in the machine shop including lathe, mill, drill press, saws, horizontal boring, to perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, cutting, broaching, and reaming metal work pieces. Is competent with 5S and maintains a safe work area. Completes all work in a safe manner with quality and productivity in mind by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES include the following. Operates the bench grinder to sharpen tools.</li><li>Set up saws as required. Can identify raw materials properly and use appropriate measuring tools when required.</li><li>Saw material as required according to specifications using the most efficient means.</li><li>Operates manufacturing computer systems in relation to timecard and shop order data entry. Our machine shop is 100% climate controlled* Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Understands programs and sets up CNC Lathe machines using programs generated by the engineering department.</li><li>Inspects parts per print and in process documentation.</li><li>Prepares all tools, and gauging needed for machining operations.</li><li>Installs jaws, tooling, downloads program, enters offsets, and proves out machine.</li><li>Inspects first run piece and makes offsets as required, spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications (including documentation of results per the quality department records).</li><li>Performs other associated duties with machines, programs, tooling, and training of operators needed to continue the productive operation of the company.</li><li>Recommends and helps implement any improvements that could be made the existing process.</li><li>Maintains a clean and organized work environment through 5-S controls (willing to learn 5-S controls).</li><li>Ensures a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensures compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental related rules and regulations.</li></ul> Experience, Qualifications, and Skills <ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>1-5+ years' experience operating CNC Lathe machines. </li><li>Working knowledge of micrometers, gauging, and comparator.</li><li>Familiarity with Fanuc Controls a plus. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings/readings.</li></ul> Benefits and Perks Our comprehensive benefits package includes, but is not limited to, a competitive pay rate, accrued vacation time, sick time, 8 paid holidays + Paid Birthday, 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance as well as Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and life/AD&amp;D insurance. CNC Lathe Setup Machinist

Summary: Operates and sets up a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Competencies: <ul><li>Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
