This role exists to support increasing production demand and ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities.

At WAI Global, this position plays a critical role in producing high-precision components for the global aftermarket across automotive, industrial, and equipment sectors—ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency at scale.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate CNC and laser cutting machines (fiber and CO₂)
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
  • Load, run, and edit CNC programs at the machine as needed
  • Optimize cutting parameters based on material type and thickness
  • Design and fabricate custom fixtures, jigs, and holding tools
  • Perform first-article and in-process inspections
  • Troubleshoot machining and cutting issues to maintain quality
  • Maintain machines and ensure safe, efficient operation
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Support automation initiatives, including robotic integration (when applicable)

Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: CNC machines, Fiber laser cutters, CO₂ laser cutting systems
  • Controls: G-code-based CNC controls
  • CAD/CAM Software: Fusion 360, Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
  • Robotics (Preferred): FANUC, ABB, KUKA
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, gauges

Materials You’ll Work With

  • Aluminum
  • Mild / Alloy Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Other metals (based on production requirements)

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of CNC machining and laser cutting experience
  • Strong experience with machine setup, operation, and programming
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
  • Experience designing and fabricating tooling and fixtures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience with robotic programming and integration
  • Exposure to FANUC, ABB, or KUKA systems
  • Experience in automation or process improvement initiatives
