Job Responsibilities: <ul> <li>CNC Machinist must have passed the CNC test with an 85% or better grade.</li> <li>Set-up all CNC milling/turning machines in shop.</li> <li>Responsible for maintaining the tooling related to the CNC process.</li> <li>Responsible for keeping a good inventory of spare parts required for the CNC Process.</li> <li>Must be able to produce machined parts to customer specifications, to do this, a tech must have knowledge of tooling (fixtures, vises, or other work holding devices, etc.) Must have knowledge of cutting tools (end mills, drills, taps, reamers, etc).</li> <li>Must be able to interpret blueprints and inspect the work piece with all types of inspection equipment (height gauge, calipers, micrometers, etc).</li> <li>Must be a good troubleshooter and actively participate to analyze and resolve work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.</li> <li>Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.</li> <li>Actively shares expertise with others; Acts as Trainer for Operators, Supervisors, and Maintenance, suggesting changes to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.</li> <li>Must be able to train and qualify CNC Operators.</li> <li>When conditions dictate, overtime may be required (with little or no prior notification).</li></ul>Education and Experience Requirements: <ul> <li>Prior experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is required.</li> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent.</li> <li>Minimum three years' experience in CNC Mill/Lathe set-up in a manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Must be able to read and understand blueprints.</li> <li>Must have working knowledge of M and G codes.</li> <li>Must be able to complete set-ups from blueprints as well as work instructions.</li> <li>Must be able to modify existing programs.</li> <li>Must be able to use hand tools.</li> <li>Must have knowledge of quality measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers in both written and verbal form.</li> <li>Must be able to lift approximately twenty to fifty (20-50) pounds frequently during an eight to ten-hour shift.</li> <li>Must successfully complete a ninety (90) day orientation period.</li></ul>Care, Courage, &amp; Collaboration At Hydro We care about our People! CNC Technician I in GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Mechanical experience Able to left 50 pounds Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Entry level position. Experience in automated machine environment/CNC preferred.. Position Purpose: Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials and layout techniques. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: <ol><li> Under supervision, operate automated machine using existing programs.</li><li> Remove/replace cutting tools and offsets as required. Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.</li><li> Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.</li><li> Identify material and appropriate cutting tools.
