This individual must be able to setup, program, and run parts to specifications from blueprints, also they must have knowledge and ability to operate machines in a manufacturing environment such as drill press, hydraulic press, saws, grinders, ect. Hand operations such as tapping, are also required.&nbsp;The preferred candidate will possess a strong machining background with experience that includes proficiency with the setup, operation and programming of Vertical CNC Milling Machines and Turning Centers. This preferred candidate will be able to hit the ground running by utilizing existing CNC programs. Additional experience with fixture and tool design, as well as 5-Axis programming is preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess great organization and prioritization skills, a strong work ethic, problem solving, the ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines and strong verbal and written skills. Attention to detail in this position is a must. ITD - CNC Machinist Job Overview: CNC Machinists are skilled in setup, programming, and operation of CNC machine tools and the development of fixture placement and tooling processes. They possess the skills of a setup technician operation and programmer. They may specialize in the use of any type or multiple types of CNC machine tools. They will study printing, selection of material, establish plans for machining operations, understand machine programming languages, and have skill using computer aided manufacturing software. This position requires an individual to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and samples to accurately machine parts to customer specifications. Some light duty lifting required and using a hoist to install vises, jigs, fixtures, and heavy work pieces onto the mill or lathe for machining. Use precision measuring equipment with both hands to accurately machine parts. Operating the controls of the mill or lathe with both hands to remove material from parts in conjunction with the specs and accuracy required for specific job. Check lubricating fluid and fill as necessary. Clean mill and lathe work area as needed and at the end of each shift. Prior Lathe or Milling experience preferred. General Summary: Performs the following duties, and other related activities as assigned: <ul><li>Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements. May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross- functional team.</li><li>Display the ability to set up, edit programs and operate multiple 3, 4 or 5 Axis CNC Machines with multiple controller combinations, simultaneously when applicable, with minimal guidance or training. Set up and operate various manual machines including vertical and horizontal mills, manual lathes, grinders, jig bores and drill presses with minimal guidance or training. </li><li>Assemble and repair various parts, mechanisms, tools, mechanical assembles, sub-assemblies or machines, applying advanced knowledge of machining practices, mechanics, shop mathematics and metal properties.</li><li>Interpret required documentation such as blueprints, sketches, specifications, NC programs, detailed routings and capable of following detailed instructions either written or oral.</li><li>Verify conformance of work piece to specifications by inspecting dimensions and requirements using calibrated measuring instruments.</li><li>Must be capable of holding close tolerances and fine micro finishes on a regular basis and must consistently produce parts within the established quality and cost parameters.</li><li>Must possess extensive knowledge in the machinability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as plastics, fiber and rubber materials and have a good working knowledge of various types of cutting tool including the ability to determine the correct speeds and feeds.</li><li>A minimum of 5 years machining experience including at least 3 years of experience setting-up, programming or editing programs and operating various multi-axis CNC machines utilizing conversational and "G" code programming.</li><li>Highly knowledgeable and experienced in machining practices, trade skills and various programming methods, above average ability to visually read and interpret blueprints and specifications, follow detailed routings, interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Must be capable of designing and fabricating complex holding fixtures when required to aid the manufacturing process. Ability to obtain a secret security clearance may be required.</li><li>Requires bending, reaching and lifting of objects within V2X EHSS guidelines. CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Overview Prototype Work | Growth | New State-of-the-Art Machines Located in Franklin, IN, this prototype shop has engineered parts for automotive, aerospace, medical, and other manufacturing industries for the last 30+ years. Their 20+ person and 20+ machine shop works with customers to provide quality parts from multi-axis mills, lathe, mill turn, and more (plus more machines on their way!). This shop also maintains a clean work environment in a temperature controlled, modern facility. In this role, you will take parts from cradle to grave, programming at the machine on GibbsCAM, setting up, and operating a mixture of mills, lathes, and other machinery. Working hours are on a 4x10, 3rd shift starting at 6 PM with some overtime available.
