Metallic Machining Supervisor

SUMMARY Responsible for writing and generating CNC machine code, ensuring the production of high-quality components from raw materials. The role demands a keen eye for detail, proficiency in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This is a third shift position PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Interprets and understand simple and complex part drawings.</li><li>Uses precision measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicators, etc. </li><li>Uses machine control codes, computers, and part nesting, DNC links, and file transfers to produce parts.</li><li>Utilizes machine control capabilities to make simple part programs, prove out programs and edit programs as a normal part of the setup and operation of CNC machines and related equipment.</li><li>Performs normal operator maintenance as prescribed by equipment builder to include the replacement of consumable materials and parts. </li><li>Performs multiple activities simultaneously, organizes work, and takes corrective action in response to error messages and/or process interruptions. </li><li>Assists with supervision in the training of other machine operators and helpers. </li><li>Diagnoses machine problems and repair of the machines. </li><li>Assumes leadership role and takes responsibility for overall performance of equipment.</li><li>Meets production standards by monitoring machine performance to include managing up time and quality standards. Use of punch dies and pressures used in the hydraulic forming of steel and alloys. </li><li>Very proficient at performing oxy/fuel flame and plasma cutting, part layout, inspection, hole drilling, tapping and milling to include an understanding of speed and feed rates. </li></ul><ul><li>Reads, understands, and follows guidelines set forth by E.I.s, M.P.s, S.P.s, O.I.C.s, and blueprints when performing assigned work.</li><li>Comply with all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in defined zero harm safety culture driven initiatives.</li></ul> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES TOOLS AND MACHINERY CNC machines such as saws, press brake, manual mills, plasma cutter and CNC Flex machine. Tools include micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicator, tape measure, go-no-go gauges and squares. MATERIALS Personal protective equipment to include safety glasses, steel toed shoes, hearing protection, welding apron, face shield, and appropriate gloves. GENERAL Works under minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Acts decisively with a sense of urgency to maximize machine production and minimize down time. Strong knowledge of mathematics, to include geometry, to determine unknown part dimensions and/or relationships. Knowledge of metal types and characteristics. Understanding of the part use, fit and function as well as the manufacturing processes utilized is essential. Experience working with computers and machine controls. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay. CNC Machine Technician

<ol><li>Use suction lift to move plywood sheets to milling board on table for inspection and prep prior to loading the router.</li><li>Slide plywood sheet and milling board from roller table to router and fit into place.</li><li>Load/Select work order on touch screen and initiate cut.</li><li>Pull cut parts and stack on frame buggy.</li><li>Break up plywood scrap and place in scrap buggy, then sweep floor around work area/CNC.</li><li>Push frame buggy to line up and push scrap buggy when1/2 full to grinder conveyor and dump scraps.</li><li>Roll milling board through vacuum system to remove dust and then slide board back to inspect/load table.</li><li>Clean router table using air restricted blow gun and/or vacuum to remove excess dust.</li><li>Use forklift to restock plywood sheets by picking up a hack of plywood (35 sheets) from stock and take it to router.</li><li>Weekly clean-up - Hit the "E" Stop switch and climb on machine to wipe down.</li><li>May perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.</li></ol> Requirements: <ul><li>Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written) May require basic math skills: counting, adding and subtracting</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs</li><li>Previous experience preferred </li></ul>Other details <ul> <li> Job Function 7A Highly Skilled Operators</li> <li> Pay Type Hourly</li> <li> Travel Required No</li> <li> Required Education High School</li></ul>Apply Now
