The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC machines, manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and wire EDM
- Manufacture molds, sleeves, cores, pins, fixtures, gauges, and elastomer tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints and G-code
- Perform precision machining and finishing work
- Repair and maintain tooling, including polishing, refinishing, surface restoration, and fit adjustments
- Conduct inspections using standard shop measurement tools
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend repair solutions
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and complete shop documentation
- Support 5S initiatives and collaborate with Tool Designers and production teams
- Assist and mentor lower-level machinists as needed
This is a hands-on tooling role with both machining and maintenance responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of tooling or toolmaking experience
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret G-code
- Experience operating CNC and manual machine shop equipment
- Strong inspection and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer proficiency (file searching, saving, editing)
- Safety-minded, organized, and detail-oriented
Preferred:
- Experience with wire EDM
- Mold repair or elastomer tooling experience
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior machinists
