Swiss CNC Operator

Custom Tool & Machine is looking for a dependable Swiss CNC Operator to join our team. This position is for someone with hands-on CNC experience who is comfortable operating equipment, inspecting parts and making basic tool-wear adjustments.

We are not expecting this person to independently program or completely set up a Swiss machine. Additional training and support will be provided as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate Swiss CNC lathes according to established setup and work instructions.
• Load bar stock and monitor the machine and bar feeder during production.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers and applicable gages.
• Make basic tool-wear offset adjustments to maintain part dimensions.
• Change inserts or tools as instructed.
• Monitor tool condition, surface finish, chip control and coolant flow.
• Recognize machining or quality problems and ask for assistance when needed.
• Record inspection and production information accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
• Communicate machine issues and important information to the next operator or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating Swiss-style CNC equipment is preferred.
• Citizen Swiss experience is a plus.
• General CNC lathe experience with a willingness to learn Swiss machining may also be considered.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers or similar inspection equipment.
• Basic understanding of cutting tools and tool-wear offsets.
• Dependable attendance, attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude.

Full setup and programming experience are not required for this position. Candidates with advanced Swiss setup or programming experience may be considered for a higher-level position.

Schedule

This is a full-time, first-shift position. CTM offers flexible starting hours between 5:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., provided the employee’s schedule supports production requirements. Work beyond 5:00 p.m. requires prior authorization.

Occasional overtime may be available or required based on production needs.

Compensation and Benefits

• $23.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience
