The Opportunity

We are hiring a Quality Inspector to support our growing CNC operation and help ensure world-class part quality for our customers. In this role, you will work on the shop floor and in the quality lab, performing in-process and final inspections, developing control plans, and supporting ISO 9001:2015 requirements. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Customer Service to keep parts in spec, launches on track, and customers confident in our process.

What You Will Do

  • Perform in-process, first piece, and final inspections on precision machined components.
  • Create, update, and maintain in-process quality control plans and inspection documentation.
  • Support ISO 9001:2015 activities, including audits, corrective actions, and documentation.
  • Use a variety of inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, optical devices, and CMM or automated gaging where applicable.
  • Interpret blueprints with GD&T and verify that parts meet dimensional and cosmetic requirements.
  • Support manufacturing process control, including capability checks, SPC, and reaction plans.
  • Assist with quality-related customer documentation such as PPAP, APQP, and control plans.
  • Help drive continuous improvement around scrap, rework, and customer complaint


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s, Associate, or Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in precision machining quality.
  • Experience supporting quality in a precision machining environment that uses advanced CNC equipment, including Swiss CNC machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working on the shop floor with machinists and operators.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, LEAN, and basic project launch processes.
  • Solid technical writing skills for control plans, work instructions, and reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to take initiative, work with limited direction, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must reside within the greater Cedar Rapids, IA area or be prepared to relocate.
