The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Grind Shop
- Supervise, coach, and develop hourly manufacturing associates
- Schedule work and allocate resources to meet production goals
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste and improve on-time delivery
- Support on-the-job training (OJT) and employee development
- Provide technical guidance for machine setups, grinding processes, and manufacturing methods
- Set up production equipment and assist with machine operation when needed
- Create and debug CAM simulation programs as required
- Develop inspection processes and inspection mylars
- Perform quality assurance spot checks on finished work
- Review and improve manufacturing processes in collaboration with other grinding departments
- Work with equipment vendors to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues
- Assist with annual performance reviews and corrective action processes
- Prepare manufacturing estimates and quotations for new work
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment

What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of manufacturing, CNC machining, manual cutter grinding, or related precision manufacturing experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and shop floor operations
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and production challenges
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Preferred
- Trade school education in Precision Machining
- Associate degree in a manufacturing-related field
- Experience with ANCA simulation or other CAM programming software
- Experience using AutoCAD LT
- Experience with ERP systems such as JobBOSS
- AS400 experience
- Quoting or manufacturing estimating experience
