Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Program Engineer with deep expertise in CNC machining of metal components to support our precision manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining machining programs and processes that ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and scalability across production. Program Engineer is responsible for overseeing company projects through the development and production stages. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in high-precision metal manufacturing environments.


Key Responsibilities
• Develop, program, and optimize CNC machines for metal product manufacturing
• Create and refine machining processes to improve cycle time, quality, and tool life
• Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through full production
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM)
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
• Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for optimal performance
• Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, and process standards. Ensure all staff receive training and all new updated procedures in a timely manner
• Provide data for leadership review, including process validation, product rollout, and program documentation
• Assist in digitizing all daily, weekly reports including but not limited to Production Planning, Production Output, Tooling Consumption, etc.
• Ensure timelines, costs, and technical requirements are meet with company projects.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to machining efficiency and cost reduction
• Support shop floor teams with technical expertise and training
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Work on systemamtic changeover time reduction of CNC machines with the objective of reducing manufacturing batch sizes and inventory
• Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience programming CNC machines
• Demonstrated experience machining precision metal components (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, brass)
• Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection methods
• Experience with multi-axis machining and tight-tolerance production
• Experience in high-volume precision manufacturing
• Knowledge of automation, robotics, or lights-out machining
• Hands-on troubleshooting and process optimization skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• CAD is SolidWorks and Fusion. CAM is Gibbs and Fusion. All programming is GCode.


Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Background in outdoor, aerospace, medical, or automotive metal products
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma Experience
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
