Why This Role Exists

Due to continued growth in industrial valve and flow-control services, Allied Valve is expanding its machining capabilities at its Riverdale facility. This position plays a key role in supporting valve repair, actuator rebuilding, and custom component fabrication for critical industrial applications. The Manual Machinist will help ensure customers receive reliable, high-quality repairs while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Perform manual machining operations on valve components, actuators, pressure seal equipment, and related industrial flow-control products
  • Fabricate and modify parts from blueprints and technical drawings
  • Operate manual machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Inspect machinery, tooling, and finished components to ensure quality standards are met
  • Adjust machine settings and machining processes as needed
  • Support repair and rebuild operations for industrial valve systems
  • Follow all HSE and workplace safety procedures
  • Assist with training apprentice machinists and supporting department workflow
  • Help manage shop priorities and distribute work assignments in the supervisor’s absence

Machines, Equipment & Tools

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: Manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and related shop equipment
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and precision measuring tools
  • Materials: Steel, stainless steel, alloy materials, and industrial valve components

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2–4+ years of manual machining experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and shop mathematics
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Familiarity with HSE and industrial safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality workmanship
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented mindset
  • Adequate English communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Experience working with valve repair or flow-control equipment
  • Leadership or mentoring experience
  • Experience training apprentice machinists
  • Industrial maintenance or repair machining background
