Pay is $45/hour plus $175/day per diem, paid seven days a week, on a 3-month contract with potential for extension.

What you'll be doing

• Operate and set up CNC mills and lathes (and wire EDM) within tolerance, following work instructions, machine programs, and engineering drawings
• Propose new production setups and change offsets and tooling as part of the setup
• Machine a variety of parts and metals where very close tolerances must be held
• Read and evaluate blueprints and specifications
• Troubleshoot and understand CNC programs and processes, and program with some supervision when needed
• Inspect your own work with a range of measuring equipment and interpret the readings
• Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different machining requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance from the daily checklist and hand finishing
• Complete job routers and records in line with good manufacturing and documentation practices
• Help improve work instructions and assist engineering with fixture redesign, and help train newer machinists

What we're looking for

Required

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines, and to run multiple machines
• Ability to set up, adjust offsets, and run both development and production jobs
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings
• Solid math and measuring skills
• A proven record of quality, on-time production runs and a commitment to safety
• Able to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds

Preferred

• Associate degree or certificate in Tooling & Machining, or a machinist apprenticeship
• Ability to program with some level of supervision
