The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC Swiss lathes (sliding headstock)
  • Install tooling, set offsets, and configure workholding and coolant systems (high & low pressure)
  • Run production and repeat jobs while maintaining tight tolerances
  • Make minor program edits at the machine (feeds, speeds, deburring passes, sequence adjustments)
  • Perform first-article and in-process inspections using proper documentation practices
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain process stability
  • Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality teams
  • Support new operators and contribute to a team-oriented shop culture

Machines, Controls & Equipment

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: Star SR20 series, Tsugami Swiss lathes (multi-axis, sliding headstock)
  • Controls: Fanuc
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators
  • Environment: Clean, organized, medical device manufacturing facility

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 2+ years of CNC Swiss lathe setup experience
  • Strong understanding of Swiss machining, tooling, and offsets
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience performing inspections and holding tight tolerances
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485:2016 and 21 CFR Part 820
  • Exposure to secondary processes (finishing, passivation, anodizing, etc.)

Pay Range: $30 – $40/hr (DOE)
Pay Notes: Sign-on bonus + relocation assistance available
