As a CNC Programmer at General Plastics & Composites, you’ll play a critical role in developing and optimizing machining processes for tight-tolerance, mission-critical components, working closely with both engineering and the shop floor to ensure safe, repeatable, and high-quality production.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Create and modify 3D models from engineering drawings
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering prints, and GD&T
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using GibbsCAM and NX CAM
- Generate, edit, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code
- Design machining strategies including:
- Tool selection
- Fixturing
- Speeds and feeds
- Support shop floor execution by:
- Monitoring first articles
- Assisting with setups and tooling
- Troubleshooting machining and programming issues
- Standardize machining processes to improve:
- Safety
- Quality
- Delivery
- Cost
- Research and implement new tooling, methods, and process improvements
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce setup time and non-conformances
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow company policies
This is a hands-on programming role with real ownership of process quality and performance.

What We’re Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of CNC programming or related manufacturing experience
- Strong experience with GibbsCAM and NX CAM
- Expert-level G-code and M-code knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T
- Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, speeds, and feeds
- Experience supporting production and first-article readiness
- Ability to work closely with shop floor teams
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with live-tooling lathes and 4-axis machining
- Background in Lean Manufacturing environments
- Experience programming complex geometries and tight tolerances
