
CNC Programmer

Overview: CNC Machine Programmers are responsible for reading and interpreting customer drawings to create tool paths, and/or develop instructions in the form of code utilizing CAM software to instruct machinery to create parts and components effectively and precisely.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Utilize CAD and CAM software to create toolpaths to program 3,4, & 5x Machining Centers as well as Dual-Spindle Turning Centers.
- Assist CNC Operators with program troubleshooting and feed/speed optimization.
- Design necessary jigs and fixtures to support production requirements.
- Coordinate jig and fixture fabrication with machine shop.
- Assist with manufacture of machined parts, as required.
- Maintain documentation per Quality and Product Realization requirements.
- Interface with Manufacturing Specialist and Customer Engineering as required to resolve technical issues.
- Create Setup Documents for each job programmed that includes the necessary information for effective set-up and production.
- Support estimating department in bidding new projects.
- Participate, as required, in new product design and development efforts.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Always deliberately and continuously optimize manufacturing planning for best financial and quality performance.
- Be a leader in continuous improvement.
Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- An associate degree, or at least 60 college hours *equivalent to two years in a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of computer aided design with manufacturing modeling software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Strength — (Heavy)- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Movement- climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, twisting, bending
- Auditory- talking and hearing
- Vision-near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision, field of vision
- Environment conditions and physical surroundings-noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions
