The CNC Mill Machinist II plays an important role in producing precision-machined components while ensuring quality, consistency, and safe machine operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Operate CNC milling machines and related production equipment
• Run production and repeat machining jobs with a focus on quality and efficiency
• Conduct machine test runs and verify setups before production
• Identify and troubleshoot machine program or process issues
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and assist with adjustments or minor repairs
• Replace worn tooling and machine components as needed
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments
• Verify dimensions and ensure parts meet print specifications and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through Athena’s “2 Second Lean” culture
• Collaborate with machinists, quality teams, and supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 2+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience
• Ability to safely operate CNC milling equipment
• Experience inspecting machined parts using precision measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to troubleshoot machining or equipment issues
• Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs with assistance during an 8-hour shift

Preferred

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous CNC mill experience in a production environment
• Experience with ERP or shop floor systems
• Aerospace or precision manufacturing background
