Why Translarity
Translarity is a growing player in the semiconductor test industry, building the wafer-test solutions behind the technology that powers our digital lives. Headquartered in Silicon Valley with operations in California, Texas, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam, we serve leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide. We hold 100+ patents and our full-wafer MEMS probe technology delivers low cost, high performance, and fast cycle times. Join a small, hands-on team where your work directly shapes precision components used in cutting-edge semiconductor testing.
The Role
As a CNC Machinist / Programmer, you'll build and optimize CNC programs and run precision parts on a vertical 3-axis mill and a surface grinder. Experienced programmers will take the lead on program development; if you're earlier in your career but know your way around a CNC machine and want to grow, we'll help you build those skills. If you take pride in tight tolerances and clean finishes, you'll fit right in.
Schedule
This is a night/weekend-premium role built to maximize your paycheck. Choose the schedule that works for you:
- 10-hour shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday–Thursday — +$1.50/hr shift differential on all hours after 5:00 PM
- 12-hour shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Friday–Sunday — +$1.50/hr weekend shift differential on all hours
Evenings (5pm–8am), overnights, and all weekend hours add +$1.50/hr on top of your base rate, and overtime hours add +$2.25/hr. Overtime is almost always available for those who want to boost their earnings. Example: a well experienced machinist at $38/hr base earns $39.50/hr on weekend and evening hours — and more on overtime.
What You'll Do
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for machining operations
- Operate a vertical 3-axis mill and a surface grinder — selecting proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and process
- Set up and run the surface grinder to achieve precise finishes on finished parts
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
- Partner with production and engineering to resolve machining issues
- Perform quality-control checks to hold parts to specified tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance to keep machines running at peak performance
What You Need (Required)
- Hands-on CNC machining experience (setup and/or operation)
- Basic understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable and able to commit to the shift schedule above
Preferred (Earns Higher Pay)
- 5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience
- Experience running a CNC vertical 3-axis mill (Haas and/or Okuma a plus)
- Experience running a surface grinder on finished parts
- CAD/CAM experience — Mastercam 2020 or newer
- Laser and microdrill experience
- Semiconductor or precision-tooling background
Newer to the trade? If you have solid CNC fundamentals and want to grow into programming, we'd still like to hear from you — we'll train the right person, and your pay grows with your skills.
