🚀 Why This Role Exists

Meta Tech Industries is growing and expanding its machining capacity to support increasing demand across oil & gas, space, and defense industries.

This role is critical to producing complex, tight-tolerance components from exotic materials, and is ideal for a machinist who can own the entire process — from programming to setup to finished part.

---

🧰 The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Program, set up, and operate Okuma CNC lathes independently
  • Machine complex precision parts from print/model to finished product
  • Work with live tooling / mill-turn operations (when applicable)
  • Select tooling, set offsets, and establish workholding
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspection
  • Hold tight tolerances on high-spec components
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets
  • Identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and leadership to resolve issues
  • Support and mentor less experienced machinists as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and perform basic machine maintenance

---

🏭 Machines, Controls & Equipment

You’ll be working with:

  • Machines: Okuma CNC lathes (single turret, live tooling / mill-turn)
  • Controls: Okuma OSP (REQUIRED)
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, indicators, scales

---

🔩 Materials You’ll Work With

  • Stainless Steel
  • Alloy Steels
  • Exotic Materials (common in oilfield, aerospace, and defense applications)

  • Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, boring bars, and workholding
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Solid math skills (geometry, basic algebra for machining calculations)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience with live tooling / mill-turn lathes
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance parts in aerospace, oil & gas, or defense
