Why This Role Exists
This role exists due to continued growth in aerospace and defense machining programs requiring high-precision, tight-tolerance turned components. At H&H Machining Center, this position is essential for producing complex CNC lathe parts where accuracy, repeatability, and machining expertise directly support mission-critical aerospace and defense applications.
The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will set up, operate, and program CNC turning centers including Doosan PUMA 2600SY and similar machines. You will be responsible for writing and editing Fanuc CNC programs directly at the machine control, selecting tooling, and determining optimal speeds, feeds, and workholding strategies for both new and repeat production jobs.
You will read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work orders while ensuring all parts meet strict aerospace tolerances, typically ±0.0005” or tighter. You will perform in-process inspection using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMM systems. You will also collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve machining processes and support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives across the shop floor.
Machines, Controls & Software
You will work with CNC turning centers including Doosan PUMA 2600SY and similar advanced lathe systems. Controls include Fanuc-based CNC systems, with programming performed directly at the machine. Inspection is supported using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment for precision verification.
