The Work You’ll Be Doing
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes from raw stock to finished part
- Run advanced turning operations on Doosan PUMA 2600SY (sub-spindle, live tooling, Y-axis)
- Load, run, and edit CNC programs at the machine
- Write and optimize programs using Mastercam or Fusion 360
- Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding setups
- Machine aerospace components in prototype and low-volume production
- Hold tight tolerances (±0.0002” on qualifying features)
- Perform first-article and in-process inspection
- Use precision tools including micrometers, calipers, and inspection equipment
- Troubleshoot chatter, tooling issues, and dimensional non-conformance
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
- Maintain AS9100D-compliant documentation and quality records
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other machinists

- Machines: Doosan PUMA 2600SY (sub-spindle, live tooling, Y-axis CNC lathe)
- Controls: Fanuc-compatible controls
- CAM Software: Mastercam, Fusion 360
- Programming: G-code (machine-level editing required)
- Inspection Tools: Micrometers, calipers, precision measurement tools

What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 7+ years CNC lathe programming and setup experience
- Strong experience with Fanuc-controlled machines
- Hands-on experience with Mastercam or Fusion 360
- Ability to machine exotic aerospace materials to tight tolerances
- Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, and tooling for difficult materials
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
- Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform inspection
- U.S. Person status required (ITAR compliance)
Preferred:
- Experience with Doosan PUMA lathes
- Live tooling, sub-spindle, and Y-axis machining experience
- Experience in AS9100D or NADCAP environments
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
