Position: CMM Operator Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator to join our quality control team. The CMM Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines to ensure the accuracy and precision of our manufactured products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in metrology, proficiency in CMM software, and a dedication to upholding the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• CMM Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to measure the dimensions and geometric tolerances of components and products.

• Programming: Develop and write CMM programs using industry-standard software (e.g., PC-DMIS) to inspect a variety of parts.

• Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections and measurements of components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.

• Data Analysis: Analyze measurement data and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, identifying any deviations or non-conformities.

• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection results, programs, and calibration activities, ensuring data traceability.

• Collaboration: Work closely with quality control, engineering, and production teams to address any quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in measurement techniques, equipment, or procedures to enhance overall quality control.

• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating CMM equipment and handling delicate parts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or relevant certifications preferred.

• Proven experience as a CMM Operator or in a similar quality control role.
• Proficiency in using CMM software, such as PC-DMIS.

• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Familiarity with measurement tools and techniques, including calipers, micrometers, and

height gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing environment.
