These are not basic production roles built around repeatedly loading the same part. Depending on your experience level, you may be responsible for setups, tooling selection, probing, programming, inspection, troubleshooting, and improving machining processes for large and complex defense components.

The company also uses a defined skills matrix to determine machining levels and pay. Machinists meet with their manager monthly to review their current capabilities, identify the skills needed for advancement, and understand what is required to reach the next pay band. That creates a much clearer development path than the vague promises found in many shops.

Second-shift machinists receive an additional $5.00 per hour on top of their base rate and work Monday through Thursday.

⚙️ What you’ll be working on

Machinists at Ravelin’s Green Bay facility produce complex components and large fabricated weldments for military and defense applications.

The work may involve setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, bridge mills, or horizontal boring mills; interpreting complex blueprints; selecting tooling and workholding; setting offsets; using probing systems; and inspecting finished components.

More experienced machinists may program with GibbsCAM and G-code, troubleshoot difficult machining or programming problems, recommend alternative processes, and provide technical guidance to other team members.

You’ll work within an operation that also has in-house fabrication, welding, engineering, prototyping, finishing, and inspection capabilities.
