🏭 About Plastic-Craft Products Corp.
Founded in 1934, Plastic-Craft Products Corp. is a family-owned plastics distributor and custom manufacturer based in West Nyack, New York.
The company operates from a 33,000-square-foot facility and provides custom plastic components for customers across aerospace, defense, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, automotive and other specialized industries.
For machinists, the work goes well beyond basic production. Plastic-Craft handles prototypes, custom components and projects that require decisions around setups, tooling, workholding, programming and inspection. Its CNC machining capabilities include milling and turning, along with routing, engraving and precision cutting.
The company works with a broad range of engineered plastics, including PEEK, Ultem, Torlon, acetal, nylon and UHMW. These materials present different machining challenges than metals and give experienced machinists an opportunity to expand their knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, heat management and part stability.
Plastic-Craft also offers in-house CAD, rapid prototyping, fabrication, assembly, thermoforming, molding, extrusion, welding and bonding. This range of capabilities allows the team to support projects from initial concept and prototype work through manufacturing and final inspection.
With more than 90 years in business, Plastic-Craft combines the stability of an established family-owned company with the variety of a custom manufacturing environment.
👍 Why you’ll like working here
This is a good opportunity for a machinist who prefers variety, problem-solving and ownership over repetitive production work.
You’ll work in a prototype-oriented environment where jobs can involve different materials, setups and manufacturing challenges. Machinists are expected to understand the complete process rather than simply load parts and monitor cycles.
The shop uses CNC and manual equipment, allowing you to apply a broad range of machining skills. Depending on the project, you may be involved in machine selection, tooling, workholding, setup, program adjustments, machining and inspection.
Plastic-Craft’s engineered plastic work also offers a change of pace for machinists coming from traditional metalworking environments. Materials such as PEEK, Ultem and Torlon are used in demanding applications and require careful attention to machining strategy and part quality.
The company’s long history, family ownership and diverse customer base provide stability, while its custom manufacturing focus keeps the work from becoming routine.
