๐ญ About Nordson Corporation
Nordson Corporation was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Westlake, Ohio. The company engineers and manufactures precision technology, including fully integrated systems, aftermarket parts, and consumables, with specialties in precision dispensing, fluid management, and surface treatment, plus measurement, testing, and inspection equipment. Nordson is publicly traded on the Nasdaq (NDSN), employs more than 8,000 people, and has operations and support offices in more than 35 countries.
Its Industrial Coating Systems business makes powder coating and liquid spray equipment, container coating systems, and 1K and 2K dispensing systems for industries including automotive, electronics, and eMobility. In July 2024, that business announced a $30 million investment in a 225,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Clinton, South Carolina, with more than 125 new production, machining, engineering, and management jobs, and readySC and Piedmont Technical College assisting with recruiting and training.
For machinists, the Clinton opening sits in a Machine and Fabrication Shop whose job families include CNC, machine operations, tool and die, and mechanic. It is a place for someone who wants to work across a wide mix of machines inside an established manufacturer, not on one repeating part.
๐ Why you'll like working here
You'd be joining an established, publicly traded manufacturer with a long history and a growing South Carolina footprint. The Clinton location has been expanding, with a 225,000-square-foot facility and more than 125 new jobs announced across production, machining, engineering, and management.
The machining work is varied. The current Senior CNC Machinist opening calls for setting up and running mills, horizontal mills with pallet changers, twin-spindle lathes, Swiss-type machines, and multi-axis VMCs, with limited supervision on defined runs. Senior machinists also lead cross-training and new-hire training for the group, which is a way to build leadership experience while staying hands-on at the machine.
โ๏ธ What you'll be working on
Machining and maintaining machinery, machine tools, equipment, and metal and plastic parts in the Machine and Fabrication Shop. Day to day that means setting up tool registers, offsets, and workholding on mills, lathes, drills, and Bridgeport machines, editing CNC programs, interpreting blueprints and title block GD&T, checking parts with calipers, gauges, indicators, and micrometers, catching out-of-spec parts, and keeping equipment running with routine maintenance.
