đ About Elyria Plastic Products
Elyria Plastic Products is a contract manufacturer specializing in precision CNC machining, custom injection molding, and in-house mold making.
The company began in 1986 as Phoenix Mold and Die, producing injection molds, stamping dies, and machined components for the medical diagnostic industry. Its original injection molding presses were installed to sample newly built molds, but customer demand quickly turned molding into a full production operation. EPP eventually became its own company and brought its machining, tooling, and molding departments together at its current Elyria facility.
Today, Elyria Plastic Products operates from a 60,000-square-foot facility with a dedicated CNC machining department, full-service tool room, engineering support, injection molding presses, and secondary assembly capabilities. Its precision machining operation produces components from bar stock, block material, and castings for medical, healthcare, aerospace, and other industrial applications.
For machinists, EPP offers work that extends beyond basic machine operation. The shop uses 4-axis and 5-axis CNC mills along with live-tooling turning centers from Haas and Mori Seiki. Machinists may be involved in setups, program adjustments, tooling, inspection, troubleshooting, fixture development, and process improvement.
The company has built its reputation around quality, dependable delivery, and practical manufacturing solutions. Its combination of CNC machining, engineering, mold making, and production molding gives employees exposure to several sides of the manufacturing process within one organization. Company background

âď¸ What youâll be working on
EPPâs CNC machining department produces custom components from bar stock, blocks, and castings. Depending on the job, machinists may work with aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, carbon steel, or engineered polymers.
The work can include setting up CNC lathes and mills, selecting tooling and workholding, setting speeds and feeds, editing programs, monitoring machining operations, and inspecting completed parts. Experienced machinists may also help develop fixtures, manufacture experimental components, troubleshoot new programs, and recommend changes that improve setup time, consistency, or production efficiency.
The machining team works alongside engineering, programming, production, and EPPâs in-house tool room. This creates opportunities to contribute beyond cycle operation and understand how parts, tooling, and production processes fit together.
