🏭 About Continental Tool Group

Continental Tool Group manufactures and supplies high-performance pneumatic and power-tool solutions for aerospace, automotive, fleet maintenance, industrial, military, and MRO customers. Its products support demanding work such as aircraft assembly, industrial production, fastening, material removal, surface preparation, maintenance, and specialized applications where durability and reliability matter.

The organization's manufacturing heritage traces to Hy-Tech's Pittsburgh-area air-tool production beginning in 1923. Over time, the broader group brought together established brands serving professional and industrial markets. Continental Tool Group now operates from its Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania headquarters with additional locations in Florida, Nevada, California, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

For machinists, the Cranberry Township operation offers work that goes beyond basic machine operation. Current opportunities involve CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, and horizontal machining centers, with development exposure to live-tool, bar-fed, mill-turn, multi-axis, and twin-spindle equipment. Machinists may take responsibility for setups, program edits, tooling, workholding, first-piece inspection, troubleshooting, documentation, and process improvement based on their experience level.

The company emphasizes engineered solutions, product performance, quality control, and collaboration among manufacturing, programming, quality, and maintenance teams.

👍 Why you'll like working here

Experienced machinists can take meaningful ownership of how parts are set up, machined, inspected, and improved. The work may include new or challenging components, control-level programming, tooling and workholding decisions, and hands-on troubleshooting rather than repetitive machine tending alone.

The current CNC Machinist II/III opportunity offers a four-day day-shift schedule, a $30–$45 hourly range, and placement based on demonstrated capability. More experienced machinists can contribute to prove-outs, difficult jobs, process improvements, setup documentation, and mentoring, while developing toward advanced equipment and programming responsibilities.

⚙️ What you'll be working on

Machinists support the components and production processes behind Continental Tool Group's engineered pneumatic and power-tool portfolio. Work can include CNC turning, vertical and horizontal machining, complete setups, program loading and editing, tooling and workholding selection, first-piece qualification, in-process inspection, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Qualified machinists may also develop on mill-turn, multi-axis, live-tool, bar-fed, or twin-spindle platforms. The role works closely with programming, quality, and maintenance to maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, repeatability, safety, and production performance.
