The Work You’ll Be Doing

Machinists at Blue Chip Tool work on a wide variety of precision parts in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Setting up and operating CNC lathes and vertical milling machines
  • Running prototype and small production jobs
  • Reading and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T
  • Selecting tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
  • Holding tight tolerances based on customer requirements
  • Performing in-process and first-piece inspection
  • Adjusting offsets, feeds, and speeds as needed
  • Using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM)
  • Maintaining clean, organized work areas

This role is ideal for machinists who are confident working independently on varied jobs rather than long production runs.
