đ About Azon USA
Azon USA is an employee-owned manufacturer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Founded in 1977, the company develops machinery, polyurethane systems, and related technologies used to improve the thermal performance of commercial aluminum windows, doors, curtain walls, storefront systems, and other architectural products.
The companyâs work began in response to the energy challenges of the 1970s. Today, Azon serves customers around the world through operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia.
Unlike a traditional production machine shop, Azon manufactures customized equipment used by other manufacturers. Its machinery supports the Pour and Debridge process, which creates thermally broken aluminum framing systems for more energy-efficient commercial buildings.
Machinists at Azon help produce the components needed to build and support this specialized equipment. The work includes CNC milling, CNC turning, manual machining, tooling management, inspection, and regular setups and changeovers across varying production runs.
For experienced machinists, that means an opportunity to work on a variety of parts and use a broader range of skills than a repetitive operator position typically allows. Programming, setup, machining, inspection, and problem-solving all contribute to the finished equipment.
Azon combines machining, machinery manufacturing, chemistry, engineering, research, and customer support under one established organization. Its Kalamazoo team supports customers throughout the global commercial building industry.
đ Why youâll like working here
Azon offers machinists the opportunity to take ownership of the complete machining process rather than being limited to loading and unloading parts.
Depending on the project, you may program in Mastercam, set up CNC mills and lathes, operate multiple machines, inspect finished components, edit programs, and help maintain the tooling inventory. The work changes as different components and customized equipment move through production.
You will machine multiple materials, work from blueprints and GD&T, and use both CNC and manual equipment. This makes the opportunity well suited to someone who enjoys variety, independent problem-solving, and staying involved from programming through final inspection.
You will also be joining an established, employee-owned manufacturer whose products support energy-efficient commercial building systems around the world.
âď¸ What youâll be working on
Machinists at Azon produce components used in the companyâs customized machinery and production systems.
The work may include programming CNC mills and lathes with Mastercam, completing setups and part changeovers, editing G-code and M-code, operating multiple machines, and inspecting finished parts against blueprint requirements.
Components are machined from steel, stainless steel, and aluminum across varying production runs. Machinists may also operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and saws as required.
Because Azon manufactures specialized equipment, the work involves more variety than a high-volume environment built around one repeating part. Machinists contribute directly to the equipment Azon supplies to manufacturers in the commercial window, door, curtain wall, and storefront industries.
