🏭 About American Machine Company

American Machine Company is a full-service precision CNC machine shop that has been running in Westborough, Massachusetts since 1968, owned by partners Matthew Manella and Bruce Rososky. The shop covers both milling and turning work, taking on everything from single prototype parts to production runs of thousands of pieces, and machines a wide range of materials including aluminum, carbon and stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, and engineering plastics.

Customers span valve manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, electronics, automotive, and packaging, and the shop has built long-tenured relationships with many of them, some going back 25 years or more. American Machine backs its machining work with in-house finishing capabilities — anodizing, plating, heat treatment, grinding, and polishing among them — along with in-house quality control from raw material through shipped part. The shop's own framing is direct: it employs machinists, not just machine operators.

👍 Why you'll like working here

This is real job shop work — the mix of parts and materials changes regularly instead of running the same job for months on end, which keeps the work varied for a machinist who wants to stay sharp. The shop's Haas mill fleet includes 5-axis machining centers run in 3+2, so there's genuine multi-axis programming and setup involved, not just straight 3-axis work. American Machine has been in business under the same ownership group since 1968 and has kept customer relationships for decades, which speaks to steady, consistent work rather than boom-and-bust production swings. The shop's own culture explicitly values machinists who can own a job from programming through inspection, not just load parts and hit cycle start.

⚙️ What you'll be working on

Precision-machined parts for valve, aerospace, medical device, electronics, automotive, and packaging customers — production runs ranging from single prototypes to thousands of pieces. Work spans programming in Fusion 360, setup and operation of Haas machining centers (including 5-axis machines run in 3+2 positioning), tooling and workholding selection, and first-article and in-process inspection using standard shop gauging. Materials in the mix include aluminum, carbon and stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, and engineering plastics, so the work doesn't stay narrow for long.
