We are seeking a Highly Skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our growing team of professionals who are passionate about excellence in advanced manufacturing.Position OverviewThe 5-Axis CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC machines to produce precision components to exact specifications. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.<ul><li>Set up, program, and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines (e.g., Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Okuma, etc.).</li><li>Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files.</li><li>Utilize advanced CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.,) for programming.</li><li>Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure tight tolerances.</li><li>Optimize machining processes for maximum efficiency, tool life, and part quality.</li><li>Maintain machine tools, fixtures, and cutting equipment in excellent working condition.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve production challenges.</li><li>Uphold a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.</li></ul>Follow safety protocols and regulations.Safety and Quality a must; adhere to all PPEAdherence to all safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company procedures is essential to ensure a secure and compliant“Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.”The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and product/service quality.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Set up and operate CNC VTL machines to produce high-quality parts.</li><li>Inspect parts and materials to ensure they meet specifications.</li><li>Adjust tooling and programs as needed.</li><li>Perform in-process and final inspections.</li><li>Safely operate overhead cranes for large component handling.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>5 years of CNC VTL experience with large parts (30”+).</li><li>Proficient with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls.</li><li>Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.</li><li>Overhead crane operation experience.</li><li>Minimum 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with at least 3 years in 5-axis machining.</li><li>Proven ability to program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machines independently.</li><li>Strong understanding of G-code, tool paths, feeds/speeds, and material properties (e.g., aluminum, titanium, stainless, Inconel).</li><li>Proficient in CAM software (Mastercam, , etc.).</li><li>Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, CMMs).</li><li>High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.</li><li>Strong math, geometry, and trigonometry skills.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret GD&amp;T.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>General machinist certification and GD&amp;T knowledge.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Experience in manufacturing environments.</li><li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.</li><li>Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.</li><li>CNC programming certification or technical degree in machining/manufacturing.</li></ul>Why Join ABS Machining Inc.?Be part of a skilled team delivering precision work for top engineering companies like GE and Siemens.
