CNC Machinist

VadaTech is a world leader in the design and manufacture of embedded computing solutions. Our team is growing,and we are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer for our second-shift manufacturing location in Henderson, NV. Responsibilities: • Designing of programs, determining processes, tools, programming (in Master CAM), and set-up. Ability to troubleshoot and improve existing programs. Set up and operate multi-axis (true 5-axis, 3+2) CNC (Vertical) • Capable of holding tight tolerances associated with the machining of precision parts • Use measuring gauges including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, depth gauge, bore gauges, Mahr gages, and others to inspect manufactured parts, in order to ensure adherence to drawing tolerances. • Ability to update CNC programs based on data from quality and other sources • Interface directly with internal customers or departments to deliver an estimate of completion and tooling requirements of individual machined projects. • Proficient in reading and interpreting 3D &amp; 2D engineering models .• Perform machine shop set-up and maintenance. • Assist with other metals parts and fixture fabrication work, as needed -- including cutting, jigging, anodizing, passivation, welding, physical dimensioning, etc. • Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery. • Ensure all manufacturing safety &amp; regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times. • Actively practice a culture of 5S (Sort, Set and Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) in the machine shop. Requirements Required and Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in multi-axis (5-axis) CNC. Experience in Mazak 5-axis programming required. • Ability to review part prints and assure machining accuracy. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Additional experience with welding, grinding, and waterjet is a plus. • Solid working knowledge of Mastercam required. • Ability to trouble shoot CNC programs for issues and errors. • Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and its application to the machine shop environment. • Strong experience with using standard inspection tools and methods in the evaluation of machined parts. • Creative problem solver, able to work in multi-disciplinary teams. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work in both R&amp;D and production rate environments. CNC Mill &amp; Lathe Programmer/Setup Job Summary: As a CNC Setup/Programmer, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing processes by creating, optimizing, and maintaining the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs used to control precision machinery and equipment. Your expertise will be vital in translating engineering designs and specifications into machine instructions that result in accurate and high-quality machined parts. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, and programming languages, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, machinists, and production teams. Responsibilities: Program Development: <ul><li>Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs that guide the machine in producing parts to required dimensions and tolerances utilizing 3-axis mills and 9-axis Lathes. Swiss Screw Machine experience programming and/or tombstone milling a plus.</li><li>Utilize CAD/CAM software to generate tool paths, define machining processes, select appropriate cutting tools, speeds &amp; feeds, and establish machining sequences. SOLIDWORKS SolidCAD/SolidCAM experiences are a plus; however, willingness to learn SOLIDWORKS is required if not experienced.</li></ul> Programming and Optimization: <ul><li> Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs to achieve efficient machining processes, minimize cycle times, and reduce waste e.g. path logic.</li><li>Ensure proper tool and material selection for each job to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy.</li></ul> Setup and Testing: <ul><li>Collaborate with machinists and production teams to set up CNC machines and load programs onto the machines.</li><li>Run simulations and perform test runs to verify the accuracy of the CNC programs before full production.</li><li>Setup through first article inspection.</li><li>At the work center/machine program editing is required.</li></ul> Troubleshooting: <ul><li>Identify and resolve programming, tooling, or machining issues that arise during production.</li><li>Modify existing programs to rectify errors, improve efficiency, or implement design changes.</li></ul> Documentation: <ul><li>Maintain accurate and organized records of CNC programs, tool selections, machining parameters, and any adjustments made for future reference.</li></ul> Continuous Improvement: <ul><li>Stay updated on industry trends, machining technologies, and software advancements to suggest and implement process improvements.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering teams to provide input during the design phase to optimize manufacturability.</li></ul> Quality Control: <ul><li>Conduct regular quality checks on machined parts to ensure they meet specified standards and make necessary adjustments to programs if deviations are detected.</li><li>ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 familiarity is a plus.</li></ul> Safety and Compliance: <ul><li>Adhere to safety protocols and standards while working with CNC machines and equipment.</li><li>Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations related to machining operations.</li></ul> Qualifications and Skills: <ul><li>Four (4) years minimum machinist work experience.</li><li>Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for generating tool paths (e.g., SolidWorks, CAMWorks, MasterCAM, etc.).</li><li>Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and material properties.</li><li>Knowledge of programming languages used in CNC machining (G-code, M-code, etc.).</li><li>Problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot machining issues while at the machine editing the program.</li><li>Attention to detail and precision to ensure accurate production of parts.</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul> Job Type: Full-time 40 per week.
