Job purposeThe primary responsibilities are to setup and run Multi-Axis CNC Lathes with live tooling, CNC Mills all the while maintaining production efficiencies and part quality.Duties and responsibilities<ol><li>Setup, operate and debug CNC Lathes and Mill.</li><li>Make machine tool offsets as needed to maintain part quality.</li><li>Make minor program changes to NC code as needed.</li><li>Identifies signs of tool wear and then makes the appropriate process or tool change(s). </li><li>Reads process sheets and mechanical drawings with the understanding of GD&amp;T.</li><li>Works on multiple machines and performs multiple tasks throughout the day.</li><li>Uses general measuring instruments such as; indicators, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gage blocks, rules, protractor and height gages.</li><li>Enters inspection data into a computer software program.</li><li>Performs basic machine maintenance such as changing fluids and filters.</li><li>Maintains a clean work environment and machine work area.</li><li>Follows company written policy and documented procedures</li><li> Other duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ol>Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or Technical Training Certificate</li><li>Minimum 3-5 years of experience setting up and running CNC Lathes and Mills.</li><li>Technical Training College with the focus of study being CNC setups and operation or similar Apprentice training.</li><li> Ability to read blue prints and knowledge of GD&amp;T a must.</li><li>An understanding of both the Metric and English measuring systems a must.</li><li> Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.</li><li>Basic computer knowledge along with Microsoft Office</li><li>Knowledge of cutting tools and exotic materials/high temp. alloys.</li><li> Ability to write and edit NC programs with understanding of cutting parameters.</li><li>Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Knowledge of Mori Seiki, MAPPS-4, Mazak, Mazatrol, and Mastercam a plus.</li><li>Strong communication skills.</li></ul>Working conditions<ul><li>Generally working in production environment.</li><li>Required exposure to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. &nbsp;NOTE: &nbsp;All safety precautions will be used.</li><li>Requirement for some independent actions and/or decisions is expected.</li><li>Some repetitive motion required on occasion.</li></ul>&nbsp;Physical requirements<ul><li>Required daily: periodic lifting of materials and parts weighing up to 70 lbs (lifting device is available).</li><li>Required intermittent long periods sitting and standing.</li></ul>
