This is a night shift position that has a paid and competitive night shift premium. The shift is Monday through Thursday, 4:15 PM to 2:15 AM. This position is located in Edmonton, AB. A relocation package is available. We are looking for a skilled CNC Set-Up Operator for a challenging role to efficiently and safely setup and operate CNC equipment to machine high-quality components for Stream-Flo's products. Duties Include: <ul><li>Responsible to ensure product quality meets drawing specification</li><li>Stamp machinist's ID on all pieces and re-stamp and/or mark heat numbers on pieces when heat numbers have been removed by machining</li><li>Identify machining non-conformances by separation and/or marking</li><li>Maintain machines, equipment and work stations</li><li>Follow work order and process traveler requirements and fill out job sheets or record time using ERP system</li><li>Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify Maintenance Department and/or Supervisor/Lead Hand of a down time situation</li><li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of an operation or process</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li></ul>Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following: <ul><li>Relevant CNC post-secondary certificate/diploma</li><li>Minimum 3 to 5 years of previous related work experience operating a Mazak, Doosan, and/or Mori Seiki lathes an asset</li><li>Experience with part tolerance with +/-.002</li><li>Ability to identify and understand tooling, inserts and fixtures</li><li>Familiarity with G-code programming</li><li>Experience with dimensional measuring techniques and equipment</li><li>Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and blueprints</li><li>Strong attention to detail and quality</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude</li><li>A strong commitment to workplace health and safety</li><li>Solid work ethic and a willingness to learn</li><li>Able to work effectively in a team environment</li><li>Strong communication skills</li></ul>Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. is a privately owned and operated Canadian manufacturer of wellhead, production gate valve and check valve equipment. Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Fabrication Machine Operator will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Fabrication Department. The CNC Press Brake Operator is responsible for machining Powell Canada products into E-house structures. Essential Responsibilities <ul> <li>Determine size and length requirements of each operation specified, within given allowable tolerance.</li> <li>Select and transport material to different work areas manually or using machinery.</li> <li>Measuring and marking sheet metal according to templates.</li> <li>Operate metalworking machines to cut punch, drill, and shape or straighten sheet metal.</li> <li>Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces.</li> <li>Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment and its tooling, as well as, small electric and air tools.</li> <li>Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications.</li> <li>Perform repairs on machinery.</li> <li>Assist in inventory control.</li> <li>Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.</li> <li>Ensures quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.</li> <li>Ensure work areas remain clean and well organized.</li> <li>Other duties as required.</li></ul> Job Requirements - Core Competencies <ul> <li>Ability to program or learn to program N.C. equipment.</li> <li>Comprehension and understanding of shop drawings.</li> <li>Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a "can-do" attitude by collaborating with others to solve problems and drive results.</li> <li>Self-starter with ability to take on multiple tasks with a drive to succeed.</li> <li>Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.</li> <li>Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.</li> <li>Able to work effectively within your team and around other departments and their activities.</li> <li>Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.</li></ul> Qualifications <ul> <li>Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is required.</li> <li>Minimum of 1 year experience working in metal fabrication an asset.</li> <li>Sheet metal worker trade certification is considered an asset.</li> <li>Familiarity with Turret, Press Brake, Plasma, Laser Beam copper and other metal working equipment is an asset.</li> <li>Familiarity with an MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is considered an asset.</li> <li>Basic skills Microsoft Office.</li></ul> Working Conditions <ul> <li>Sit in a semi-enclosed space to perform work occasionally.</li> <li>Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.</li> <li>Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.</li></ul> Physical Requirements <ul> <li>Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.</li> <li>Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.</li> <li>Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.</li> <li>Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force frequently throughout the shift.</li> <li>Lifting metal sheets up to 50lbs.</li> <li>Maneuvering metal sheets up to 200lbs.</li> <li>Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palms.</li> <li>Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.</li> <li>Working with and around loud and fast moving machinery for the majority of the shift.</li></ul> Who we are Powell Canada Inc. is a subsidiary of Powell Industries, which is located in Houston, Texas.
